B16.9 A403 Wp316L 1.5D Seamless Pipe Elbow

Grade 316, with the letter L, signifies that the grade has a lower content of carbon present in its alloy. Marine grade Stainless Steel 316L Pipe Fittings have a low carbon content, which makes welding relatively easier. Any elemental change in the composition of an alloy could affect its tensile properties as well. Though there is a marked increase in weldability of the Stainless Steel 316L Socket weld fittings, one cannot deny that the chemistry is not very stable. Thus resulting in a reduction of the other properties of the metal. However, this is a problem that could be easily solved by the addition of nitrogen in the alloy of UNS S31603 316L Stainless Steel Fittings. Nitrogen, when added in austenitic metals, like grade 316L is known to balance the formation of austenite, thereby making up for the reduced content of carbon in the alloy.

Apart from improving its yield strength, the other properties of the ASTM A403 WP316L Elbow is nearly restored to its former self. Therefore, not only is the metal strong, but it has good weldable properties and the ss 316L pipe fittings is well suited for marine engineering purposes, including applications that contain halogen compounds.
