ASTM B463 UNS N08020 Alloy 20 steel plate

Carpenter 20 Cb-3 Plates is an austenitic alloy with nickel-iron-chromium based; it has excellent corrosion resistance in chemical environments which contains sulfuric acid and many other aggressive media.In order to resist intergranular corrosion, it is stabilized with niobium. As compared to higher nickel-based alloys, it provides potential cost savings while out performing standard stainless steels.
SB 463 UNS N08020 Plate has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid. It also shows suitable resistance in phosphoric acid and aqueous salt solutions. When chloride stress corrosion cracking becomes an issue, it is an excellent option, as it resists pitting and crevice corrosion.
ASTM B463 UNS N08020 Sheet can be formed either by hot-working or cold-working using traditional methods. Hot forged material should be heated between 2100°F and 2250°F with careful temperature control insuring that the material not fall below 1800°F prior to forging.After hot working, the material should be annealed by heating between 1725°F - 1850°F for minimum 30 minutes per inch of thickness followed by water quench.
2.4660 Alloy 20 Sheet is widely used in petrochemical and refining,chemical processing, pharmaceutical, marine and food processing. Its end use applications are agitators, storage tanks, pump and valve parts, mixing tanks, fasteners, fittings and food processing equipment. As per ASME its applications are limited to a temperature of maximum1000°F.
